 Mr. Lash graduated from the University of Northern Iowa with a Bachelor of Arts Degree. He taught social studies and coached at Linn Mar in Marion, Iowa and in Grinnell, Iowa before moving to Thermopolis. In 1983, Mr. Lash completed his certification in Elementary Education from the University of Wyoming and began his teaching career in Hot Springs County School District as a 4th grade teacher at Ralph Witter’s Elementary School. In 1996, after moving to 5th grade at Lucerne School, he completed his Master’s degree in a Master of Science in Natural Sciences program at the University of Wyoming. In 2011, Mr. Lash earned an endorsement in Educational Administration from the University of Wyoming. 

 Throughout his teaching career, Mr. Lash has taught numerous grade levels and subject areas: 4th grade, 5th grade, 6th grade math, science, and social studies, 7th grade social studies, 8th grade science and social studies, 9th grade geography, 10th and 11th grade United States History and World History, 12th grade Civics, Psychology, Sociology, and Russian History.

 Currently, Mr. Lash is teaching 7th and 8th grade social studies, and he is the Athletic Director for the district.  He has coached football, basketball and track at both the middle school and high school levels.

 Mr. Lash is an avid outdoorsman, who enjoys a variety of outdoor activities including camping, hiking, hunting, fishing, canoeing, horseback riding, and wildlife watching. He is also an Emergency Medical Technician for Mortimore Ambulance.

 Mr. Lash is married to Cathy Lash, a reading teacher/interventionist for Hot Springs County School District. Mr. and Mrs. Lash have two adult children who are graduates of Hot Springs County School District. Both earned degrees from the University of Wyoming. Katie, his daughter, works for the United States Forest Service in Cody, Wyoming. Kyle, his son, is a game warden for the Wyoming Game and Fish Department.

Mr. Lash’s goal is be an excellent teacher and school administrator.
